Fresh Cranberry Sauce

About 7 minutes total
Yield:
12 servings
Ingredients:
  • 1 package fresh raw cranberries
  • 1/3 c Sugar
  • 1 c water
Process:
  • In a lmedium saucepan combine cranberries, sugar and water.

  • Bring to a boil.
    Turn down to gentle boil for 5 min.

  • Place in glass or ceramic bowl (not metal) and let cool before serving.

Cranberry Sauce
Fresh raw cranberries are readily available in late fall, early winter. They are so simple to prepare, you'll never buy a can again!


TIPS:
  • Use dark brown sugar instead of table sugar.

  • If you don't like the skins, run the cooked batch through a food processor to make smooth.

  • This is too thick to strain through a sieve, although you could if you want to make a clear red jelly.
    The yield will be slightly less.
